The Gym

Yesterday, Wes and I took the kiddos to Kinetic Kids Gym, a gym for kids. We wanted to try it out before we signed up for any classes, so we went to their "open gym" time. Vivi and Gavin had a ball! They loved everything about this place.

When Viv first got there, she wanted to move a few things around.

They both liked jumping on the trampoline.

Viv's favorite thing there was definitely the zip line. Yes, they had a zip line. She must have asked to go on it 20 or 30 times.

Gavin liked it too.

We'll definitely be back again!

Individual Time (Part Two)

While Viv and I were making white chocolate lemon cheese cake cupcakes, Wes and Gavin were mowing the lawn. I know, it doesn't sound as exciting as my and Viv's activity, but for some reason, Gavin was SUPER pumped about the thought of getting to ride the lawn mower.

Surprisingly, Gavin rode that lawn mower on Wes' lap for a whole hour! It was hilarious. At one point, Vivi and I went out on the deck to watch them. (We went outside during the I'm-terrified-of-the-mixer incident, which is why Viv is upset in the first clip and part of the second clip.)

After about an hour of that, Gavin was tired and wanted to come inside. But then after a little while inside (of course), he was ready to go back out again. Here's a clip of them in the kitchen watching Wes cut the rest of the grass.

Individual Time (Part One)

When Wes and I found out we were having twins instead of just one baby, we talked about how a lot of things would change and about how we were going to try to make each baby feel special. Something that we decided to do pretty early on was to have individual time with each twin a few times a month.

We didn't have the opportunity to do this very much when Vivian and Gavin were younger. But, in the last 6-8 months, we've worked really hard to have some one-on-one time with them, even if it just means that one of us takes one of them to the grocery store while the other parent and child stay home.

On Monday, I wanted to make something with Vivi and Wes wanted to do something outside with Gavin. I decided to make white chocolate lemon cheese cake cupcakes (YUM!) with Viv and Wes decided to ride the lawn mower with Gavin for a while. Here's what Vivi and I did (post about Gavin's activity to come).

We started off by crushing the graham crackers to make the crust.

Then, we mixed the graham cracker crumbs, butter, and sugar. After it was mixed, it was time to put some crust into each cupcake holder. Vivi loved doing this.

Then, we mixed the ingredients for the cheese cake (unfortunately, Viv was TERRIFIED of the hand mixer, so I had to stir it myself) and scooped some into each cupcake holder on top of the crust.

All of the mixing, scooping, and baking made Viv rather tired. So we watched Yo Gabba Gabba

After dinner, we gave Gavin and Vivian their own little cheese cake. They were a bit unsure at first, but both cheese cakes were eventually gobbled up.

Girl's Night ~ April Edition

On Saturday, Stephanie, Brandy, and April drove down from Maryland for a girl's night in my neck of the woods. We started off the night at Clementine's Restaurant. We all loved the atmosphere, food, and great conversation.

We left Clementine's and walked over to The Artful Dodger for another drink and more good conversation.

On the way home, we stopped by Jack Brown's to get three Fried Oreos- YUM!
A great girl's night with GREAT girls!

Water Table Fun

Earlier this week, we were running really low on green sand (thank goodness!). So, we decided to empty the sand and fill the table with water. Vivi and Gav had a ball.

They especially loved it when playing in the water table turned into a water fight.
