Gavin the Soccer Player

Gavin started soccer last month. Based on his disinterest in BO-RING gymnastics, we thought soccer would be better since there is more running and activity involved. And he seems to like it. Does he LOVE it? No. But it's definitely better than gymnastics. Here he is at his first soccer practice:

Here are a couple from his first two soccer games:

Here's his soccer team:

And here is a video of him playing soccer (he's in the white jersey, #21):

Here's hoping that this extracurricular works out!

What he calls them

Paxton calls Vivian, "Sissy." When he says it, though, it sounds like he's saying "shi-shi." Paxton tries to say "Gav" when referring to Gavin, but it comes out like he's saying, "Guy." When you ask Paxton to say his own name, he says "Me." Every. Single. Time. Even if you say, "Can you say Paxton?" He still responds with "Me!"

Weeeeeeeeeee!

Paxton LOVES slides. He loves them so much that whenever his butt touches anything that he could possibly "slide down" (like the wall, Wes' leg, the back of the couch, etc.), he says "Weeeee!" while sliding his little tushie down the chosen object. I know, he's adorable.

Awww, Shucks

On Friday, April 11, 2014, I went to the SCOM (School of Communication Studies) Alumni Awards Picnic with Vivian. It's our annual event where current students, alumni, and faculty mingle, eat, and reminisce about the past school year. There are also awards for our top students, top alumni, and top teachers.

Most of the awards are for current students, there is one award for the top alumni, one award for Instructor of the Year, and one award for Professor of the Year. The student and alumni awards are chosen by faculty and the two top teacher award winners are chosen by current students.

Well, I can't believe it, but I WON PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR!

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party

A couple of weekends ago, Vivian and I went to a totally free Alice in Wonderland themed tea party at the mall with Diane and Olivia. She was in love with it all. Every single second of it.

Our Weekly Activities

We started to amp up our kids' activities. If you remember, the twins did gymnastics together last spring and last fall. Well now...

Vivian does dance class on Mondays (with Olivia).

Wes takes Paxton to the baby gym on Tuesday mornings.

Gavin has soccer on Wednesdays.

The twins go to Zumba on Thursdays (again, with Olivia).

And Gavin has soccer games on Saturdays.

Life is getting busier. And I love it.

Wood & Paint

I recently found these little wooden building kits at the dollar store. Knowing our kids would like them, I bought 12. Wes built one with each kiddo this week and they (especially Mr. Gavin ) fell IN LOVE with them. Wes made them with the kids during the day and I helped them paint their airplanes and race car that afternoon. Since then, each kiddos has made two more of these wooden creations. A great dollar store find, indeed!

March MD Trip

On February 28th, we drove up to Maryland for the weekend. We arrived on Friday night. And as per their usual routine, we took several early morning baths at GG and Max's.

On Saturday, Wes took the boys out for the day with his mom and then Vivian, my mom, and I went to April's baby shower (that I was co-hosting). It was a jam-packed, very fun day.
All of the ladies made it out to April's baby shower, which is a rarity these days. It was so great to see everyone together.

We ended the day playing on GG's iPad, reading books, and relaxing.

The next morning, we went back to Harrisonburg.

This Blog is Dying

I hate to say it, but this blog is dying. I knew it would happen eventually. I just didn't think it would happen so soon. Tear.

I plan to really amp up my blogging again this summer. This past school year has proven to be more challenging than previous years. Remember the months of 30+ posts? I do. And I miss them. But, summer is almost here. I'm hoping to have more time for more frequent posts. We'll see.

I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.
