Camden's First Birthday Party

On Saturday, April 18th, we went to my dear friend's daughter's first birthday party. It was at a park with lots to do- playgrounds, crafts, food, and friends. Our other dear friends, the Richelsens and Alhassanis, were also in attendance, making the day close to perfection. Happy birthday, Camden Annabelle!

Between the four of us (pictured above), we currently have seven children (4 boys and 3 girls) with two more on the way this year (I'm having a boy & Steph is having a girl). We hope to end at ten (C'mon, April & Mike!) or maybe eleven! I can't wait to see what the future holds for our little group of fake cousins!

"F" is "F," but "FL" becomes "PL"

Paxton is a funny little talker. And just like his big brother (who used to replace any "ck" sound that was in the middle of a word- like "cracker"- with a "y" sound), he has an interesting way of sounding things out. My favorite right now is how he changes any "fl" sound to "pl", even though he is perfectly fine making an "f" sound by itself. So, while he is perfectly clear when he says "funny" or "five", if he has to say "floor" or "flower," the words sound like "ploor" and "plower." It's adorable.

April Trip to MD

We just got back from a fun-filled weekend in Maryland. We started the trip with a pit stop at the last Virginia rest stop. The twins are clearly super excited about it.

We met Wes' mom for dinner Friday night before heading to my mom and Max's house to sleep.

Saturday morning was spent having a tea party with GG.

And a bubble bath in GG's "big tub."

We went to Camden's first birthday party all day on Saturday (post to come). Saturday night, we met Max and GG at their favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner (yum!). 

We left for Virginia on Sunday morning so we could make it to Harrisonburg's Touch-a-Truck event (post to come). We won't travel to MD again until July Fourth weekend, when we'll be a family of SIX!

"Don't copy me!"

We must hear the phrases "Don't copy me!" or "Mom! _____________ is copying me!" at least 4,826 times a day. What's hilarious to me is that all HATE IT when their sibling does it to them, but they still do it to their siblings. And it doesn't matter how many times we explain it to them- if you stop copying him, he'll probably stop copying you. It's definitely the biggest fight in our house.

More Easter Festivities

The Saturday before Easter, we went to a local church egg hunt. This is the fourth consecutive year that we've gone to this particular egg hunt. And let me tell you, it is a blast! And it's all free (my favorite)! There is lots to do- bouncy houses, chalk art, crafts, food, rides, a playground, puppet shows, and of course, the 10,000 egg hunt! Diane, Jack, and Olivia joined us this year. So much fun!
