I'm going to let you in on one of our little secrets. Ready? Well you should be. It's a big one. Okay, well now that I think about it, it's not really a "secret"- we've already told a lot of you about it. Anyways, drumroll... it's Ebay. Wes and I love Ebay. We have saved a ton of money on a ton of things by always looking on Ebay first. For example, we got the flower girl dresses for our wedding on Ebay for $15.95 each, I found a 17-inch flat screen television/computer monitor on Ebay for only $150.00, and Wes has bought a lot of car parts for well below their market prices. We love it. Who wouldn't?
Well, as many of you know, we've always been down for a good deal. But, since we've had Gavin and Vivian, we've become a little more concerned with finding the best price for many things in our life. A few months ago, I decided to search Ebay for some good deals on children's books. Specifically, I searched "lot, dr. suess books," "lot, toddler books," and "lot, board books" (the term lot indicates that a group of books will be sold together). It was like I hit the jackpot. I ended up bidding on and winning two auctions that day. The first was an auction for 13 hard cover Dr. Suess books. Including shipping, I paid less than $30! The second auction was for a variety of 50 toddler books, which I only paid $19.79 for! Even though a few of the books seemed to not be very interesting and a few others were a little more damaged than I would have liked, twenty bucks for fifty books is awesome!
So I challenge you to use our little secret. Ten minutes of searching in the beginning usually ends up paying off in the long run... literally! Happy searching!
