Butterflies!

On Wednesday, we took the kiddos to a local butterfly exhibit with our friends, Diane, David, and Olivia. Because of rainy weather that day, we were the ONLY people there. It was pretty cool.

Luckily, each child caught a butterfly or two.

We also got to ride the carousel! This was Paxton's first time riding one and he just loved it!

There was also an awesome collection of old toys; mostly tractors and such. Gav loved it.

We also got to play outside on the various pieces of play equipment and the 30-foot tunnel slide!

Of course, Gavin needed to walk all of the way up the extremely long tunnel slide.

It was a fun day on the farm, just the 8 of us.

Our June Trip to MD

On Friday, June 21st, we started our trip up to MD for the weekend. Unfortunately, we got stuck in a TON of traffic on the way up. In fact, it took us 4.5 hours to make the usual 2.5-3 hour trip!

Once we arrived, we went out to dinner with my mom, GG. I don't think I've really written about this, but lately, Paxton has been eating A LOT of food and has been absolutely in love with drinking from a straw. He must have drank an entire cup of water and eaten just as much pizza, broccoli, and pepperoni (who knew this kid would love pepperoni this much?).  When we got back to GG's house, we swam (sorry, no pics of that) until bedtime.

The next morning, the kids woke up and watched cartoons for a little while before Max made everyone Mickey Mouse pancakes, eggs, and bacon for breakfast! We played in the playroom at GG and Max's for a while before getting ready for our second swimming adventure of the weekend.

Here they are watching TV looking rather pissed off at The Muppets.

Instead of swimming in the pool in GG and Max's courtyard, we decided to try out the pool at the other clubhouse in their complex. It has a really cool baby pool with little fountains and an infinity pool! The Alhassanis (Iad, Brandy, Lea, and Carter) joined us for some water gun, swimming fun.

For some reason, Pax was not enjoying himself at the pool. He didn't want to get in it and he was not amused by the fountains. But the rest of us had fun!

We swam for an hour or so, the Alhassani's went home, and we went back to GG and Max's house so Paxton and GG could take a nap and the rest of us could take a break before getting ready for round three of swimming (sorry, no photos)! Lucky for us, the complex was hosting a family day with food down by the pool. There were lots of people there and Max got to join us for a hotdog and a swim. Everyone showered when we got back upstairs and then we left for an awesomely fun-tastic night with our friends and their kids. In al, there were 10 adults (us, Iad and Brandy, Steph and Tony, April and Mike, and Jen and Tony) and 6 kids (Gavin, Vivi, Paxton, Carter, Lea, and Nick). We ate pizza, drank a little wine, had two photos shoots, played outside, let the kids stay up way past their bedtime, and just had a wonderful time with a great group of people reminiscing, catching up, and chatting the night away.

I just love this group of women!

We attempted to get a great group photo with no luck. If everyone was looking, the photo was blurry and if the photo was clear, everyone wasn't looking. What the hell.

Wes, the kids, and I spent the night at the Alhassani's that night and woke up to a little playtime and eggs and bacon for breakfast!

Then, I had a Sweet Baby Photography photo shoot at a local park (post to come) before heading back over to GG and Max's house.
Here's Gavin watching the life guards clean the pool.
That afternoon, Wes, his mom and dad, and the twins went to see the movie, Monster's University, while my mom, Paxton, and I went shopping. We all met back at the house for one last swim (the twins' fourth swim sesh of the weekend) before dinner.

We ate a great dinner, went to bed, and left for Harrisonburg in the morning. It was a great weekend with a lot of great people! Can't wait for our next adventure!
