The Antique Tractor Show

On Saturday morning, it was raining. Wes and I went out to the car to pile the kiddos in and we questioned if we really should be driving 40 minutes away to go to a tractor festival in the rain. Well, we're so glad we went! The weather cleared up about 20 minutes after we got there.

Anywho, so this was an Antique Tractor Show. We knew that admission was FREE and that the kids would have fun running around the fields looking at the tractors, but we had no idea how many other FREE things would be there! Let me start by saying that we didn't spend a dime- everything we did was free. And, GG met us there, which just sweetened the already sweet day!

There was a huge sandbox filled with corn feed and tons of trucks and shovels and such. This was the highlight of Paxton's day. Once we let him get in, he DID NOT want to get out. In fact, he screamed bloody terror when we had to take a potty break. We went back to this box several times on Saturday.

There was also a box of sand and pennies with sifters for the kids to use inside. Vivian was in love with this activity. She must have found 50 pennies.

Then there was a barrel train ride. Once Vivian got in and saw water that had collected at the bottom of each barrel, she DID NOT, under any circumstances, want to partake. Gavin, on the other hand, doesn't care at all about getting a little wet.

The next awesome event was a children's tractor race and tractor pull. Sadly, we missed the race, but made it in time for G & V to volunteer to be in the tractor pull.

Gavin went first (before all of the kids, actually).

After a few other kids went, the tractor guys (as G called them) figured out how to help the kids go along and it was Vivian's turn.

They each got a pin for participating.

Then, there was a FIRETRUCK!
With a HOSE! That the twins could USE!

I think all of Gavin's dreams may have come true on Saturday.
