Smith Mountain Lake 2014 ~ Sunday - Tuesday

We arrived at Smith Mountain Lake on Sunday night (Mother's Day) around 8pm (we left shortly after Vivian's dance recital).
This was the gorgeous view from our back deck.
We finally got all three kids to go to sleep around 9:30pm (which is REALLY late for them considering that they normally fall sleep by 8pm at the latest). This was definitely the best house we've ever rented.

MONDAY
Again, the view from the deck.
On Monday morning, we piled in the golf cart (Yes, this house came with a golf cart! And a water trampoline. And a paddle boat.) and drove down the street to the marina.
Here's our selfie before we left.
We swam and played at a little beach all by ourselves (we were there for a couple of hours and we were the only people there). It was really nice. There was a huge box of toys, buckets, and trucks to play with. The kids had a blast.

After our visit at the little beach, we went home for lunch and so Paxton could take a nap. Then, it was time for a golf cart outing.

Auntie Bird met us that afternoon at Bridgewater Marina (a different, much larger marina than the one we went to that morning). We fed the fish popcorn, ate ice cream, and played games at the arcade. Oh yeah, and the kids wore superhero shirts and sunglasses.

When we got home, we decided to take the paddle boat out for a spin. Auntie Bird, the kids, and I were the first ones out.

Then, Wes and I took the kids out again.

After dinner that night, we took the golf cart to the park for some right-before-bed-playtime.

TUESDAY

In the morning, we (my mom and the five of us) drove to the state park and went to one of our favorite spots (we have gone every time we've come to SML). The kids swam, went down the slides, played in the dirt, and we all ate snacks.

We went home for lunch and a nap for Pax (which he didn't actually take). We watched Frozen and GG and Auntie Bird left to go back home. That afternoon, we (me, Wes, and the kiddos) went to the state park for a hike.

When we got home, we ate dinner and then played in our backyard beach.

The kids eventually went to bed.
