Memorial Day & #94: pick produce at an orchard/farm

Our Memorial Day was a blast. We started off the day with a little one-on-one time. I took Vivi to the store and Wes stayed home with Gavin. After a nap and lunch, we headed over to a local strawberry patch.

Shockingly, we told Vivian and Gavin what to do ONE time and they went straight to work. They totally understood what we were doing and took it very seriously. They would move the leaves to the side, look for strawberries, announce that they had found some ("HERE! HERE!"), pick them, and march over to the box to throw them in. And yes, they THREW them into the box. Every single time. Even when we pleaded with them to "be nice" and "be gentle" with them. They would just giggle and continue to throw the little berries. Oh well.

And here's the first bowl of strawberries that we devoured (we ate all 3 pounds of them) when we got home.

It was ridiculously hot outside, so we immediately turned on the hose and played on the back deck when we got home. We filled the baby pool and water table, splashed water everywhere, and ate all of our strawberries.

Then it was time for another strawberry break.

And then it was back to the water.

What can I say? Our Memorial Day was great.
