Nicholas Sean Richelsen
weighed in at 8lbs 10 ounces and was 20 and 1/4 inches long.
We all are very excited over here about this new addition. In fact, Gavin and Vivian have regularly talked about their Aunt Stephie and Uncle Tony's new baby over the last several months, with Gavin usually making up some crazy (but sometimes not-so-crazy) name for him and Vivian consistently demanding asking that the baby be a girl instead of a boy. When they woke up from their nap yesterday, I came into their bedroom with Wes' phone in hand and said, "Aunt Stephie had the baby! Do you want to see?" Their eyes lit up as they stared at the first photo of little Nicholas. Gavin immediately said, "What's dat baby name?" Vivian, on the other hand, asked, "Is it a girl or a boy?" I replied to both by saying, "Viv, you know it's a boy and we don't know the name yet. We'll have to wait and see..." Then Vivian grunted in disapproval about the baby's sex (typical) and Gavin said, "We should call Uncle Tony and ask him. He will know. Aunt Stephie is busy in da hopital. We can't call her." That kid cracks me up.
Anyhow, we are all just bursting with happiness for the Richelsen family. That little bundle is already loved so very much by so many people. If he's anything like his Mama, he will be nurturing, considerate, and organized. He will also possess a significant amount of drive, ambition, and initiative. Nicholas will love his friends and work very hard to keep his family together and happy. Now if Nicholas is anything like his Daddy, he will be adventurous, generous, and love to play and watch sports. He will want to figure out how things work and he'll fix things when they break (well, he'll probably take his time fixing things cause if he's like his Daddy, he'll also be a bit of a procrastinator). Indeed, little Nicholas is blessed.
Whether they realized it or not, Steph and Tony have played a major role in the lives of our children and we intend to try and do the same with Nicholas. We are very excited to meet him and can't wait to watch our families grow up together! Love you all!
