Lake Anna ~ Monday

Day Two: Monday
We woke up Monday morning to French Toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon made by myself and Aunt April. Then we piled into our cars and went to the Lake Anna State Park beach. Iad had to go back to work, so he and Lea left early that morning, but the rest of us went to the beach.

Surprisingly (he hasn't had the most pleasant reactions to swimming in pools recently), Paxton went right in! This kid was totally in love with the lake: the warm water, the sand, and especially the fact that we were letting him do whatever the hell he wanted. Of course, we let Pax drive once we got into the park.

Not surprisingly, the big kids LOVED the lake, too. They ran right in; splashing, swimming, and chasing fish.

Digging in the sand, while attempting to make sandcastles, was a big hit with all of the kiddos.

Nick enjoyed lounging with his parents under their humongous umbrella.

Okay, back to Mr. Paxton Marshall. He was just too precious this first day at the beach. I couldn't get over it. He loved it all. And he couldn't stop chatting, squealing in delight, and giggling about it all.

When we got back to the lake house, we let the big kiddos watch a movie in their room in hopes that they would all drift off to sleep. This did not come close to actually happening. But, they were relatively quiet in their room and Nick and Pax took a nice long nap, so Steph and I got busy making some baby food. We mad a TON of food for their freezer.

After their movie, I got the three big kids to take some cutiepatootie photos on the dock.

Paxton enjoyed finding little nuts and leaves and such around the yard.

Then, April, Wes, and I took the three big kids and Pax out on the canoe. When it was about to storm.

Then, we decided to swim. While it was raining. And the kids thought it was awesome.

The big kids all got in their Superman PJs and the adults tried to wrangle them until bedtime.

Vivian and Nick really bonded at the lake. He couldn't take his eyes off her and she couldn't stop playing with and talking about him. It was precious.

Once the kids were all asleep, it was finally adult time again!
The boys (Wes and Tony) were there, too. They just didn't get in any photos.
Another great day (and night) with friends at the lake!
