Daddy's Day Festivities

Yesterday, we celebrated Wes' first Daddy's Day. To commemorate this occasion, we began by letting Daddy sleep for a few extra hours in the morning. Our good friends April and Stephanie were in town this weekend, so the three of us took the twins for an early morning walk. When we came back, it was time to decorate with streamers and make mini blueberry muffins (yum!).
Once Wes was awake, we made pancakes and sausage to go with the blueberry muffins. Then, it was time for his Daddy's Day cards; one from the twins and one from me.
After all of the commotion, it was time for the babes to sleep.
We then all piled into the station wagon and went to Target to get the every-few-day essentials (i.e. diapers & wipes). At Target, a sweet passerby saw Wes holding Vivian and said, "Happy Father's Day!" He loved it. It was incredibly precious. After renting a movie at the local video store, we headed back to the house. We made tacos for dinner and apple pie for dessert. We also celebrated the occasion by indulging in a couple glasses of wine (this was the first time that I have had any alcohol since the first week of Sept!).
At bedtime, the twins decided to give their Daddy his present. They wrote a book about all of the reasons why they love him. He loved it!
Overall, it was a great Daddy's Day!
Happy Daddy's Day Wes!
