On Sunday (June 10), Pax got his first bath at home. I know what you're thinking: Wasn't he almost 3 weeks old at that point? Yes. Yes he was.
You see, I have this opinion about bathing young children. Simply put, I think baths are over-rated. You wanna tell me what a 2-week-old is doing that causes him/her to need a bath? They sleep, eat, and poop all day long. For weeks on end. There is no activity, they don't really sweat (unless you over dress them), and they get their diaper changed for the smallest little tinkle (as long as they complain about that sort of thing; which Pax does). So, why do they need a bath? I just don't get it. Gavin and Vivian were bathed every couple of weeks as babies and they're fine.
Anyhow, Sunday was Paxton's first bath. And, he got to experience it with his siblings. At first, he was upset because we took his clothes off. (Side note: sorry for the crappy pictures. Our bathroom is one of the most poorly-lit rooms in our house)
But, he quickly came around to the idea and seemed to really enjoy it. Gavin and Vivi really enjoyed it, too. They rubbed soap on him and rinsed him off all while I held him in the water.
He was very relaxed after this new experience.
Maybe we could bump bath time up to once a week ;-)
