Individual Time (Part One)

When Wes and I found out we were having twins instead of just one baby, we talked about how a lot of things would change and about how we were going to try to make each baby feel special. Something that we decided to do pretty early on was to have individual time with each twin a few times a month.

We didn't have the opportunity to do this very much when Vivian and Gavin were younger. But, in the last 6-8 months, we've worked really hard to have some one-on-one time with them, even if it just means that one of us takes one of them to the grocery store while the other parent and child stay home.

On Monday, I wanted to make something with Vivi and Wes wanted to do something outside with Gavin. I decided to make white chocolate lemon cheese cake cupcakes (YUM!) with Viv and Wes decided to ride the lawn mower with Gavin for a while. Here's what Vivi and I did (post about Gavin's activity to come).

We started off by crushing the graham crackers to make the crust.

Then, we mixed the graham cracker crumbs, butter, and sugar. After it was mixed, it was time to put some crust into each cupcake holder. Vivi loved doing this.

Then, we mixed the ingredients for the cheese cake (unfortunately, Viv was TERRIFIED of the hand mixer, so I had to stir it myself) and scooped some into each cupcake holder on top of the crust.

All of the mixing, scooping, and baking made Viv rather tired. So we watched Yo Gabba Gabba

After dinner, we gave Gavin and Vivian their own little cheese cake. They were a bit unsure at first, but both cheese cakes were eventually gobbled up.
