As if you hadn't realized this already, Gavin is quite a character. He's hilarious. One of the extremely funny things that he does on a multiple-times-a-day basis is to check himself out in the mirror at mealtime.
You see, in our dining room (where we eat most, if not all of our meals), we have our table and our buffet. The front of the buffet has several shelves with a mirror in the back. Gavin sits on the end of the table opposite the buffet.
Whenever we eat at the dining room table, Gavin periodically (okay, it's actually more like continuously with a few little breaks) stares at himself in this mirror. It's not like he's curious about who it is. He knows exactly who he's looking at. It's more like he's showing off for himself. He'll say funny things or make funny faces that are completely irrelevant to whatever is happening at the table with the rest of us. In fact, it sometimes seems like he's pretending to be on a food-tasting show.
He'll look at himself, smile, take a bite of food, chew it in a funny way, and then tell himself (in the mirror) what he thinks about it.
I wish we could get it on video. Until then, I guess we'll just watch Gavin watch himself in the mirror of our buffet.
